Update 20

Oi Familia!!!

Sounds like you guys all had a crazy week!!! That is so exciting about Jaydn being ordained a priest!! (And exciting about the other things that happened with him this week too... :) !!) And I cannot believe Breegan and Gideon are married!!!!!! Congratulations to them!!! It sounds like it was all absolutely beautiful :)

This week has been a good one! Jordy (the brother of Sally who was baptized two weeks ago) was baptized on saturday! It almost didn't happen because his mom had told him he had to stay and work on building a house next door to his, and then she left for work. So we showed up to his housed with a good 45 minutes before the baptism was going to start, and he told us he couldn't go.  We tried EVERYTHING to get a hold of her and nothing was working. Probably a good hour later, we decided to say a prayer, and he decided to just go get ready to go and hope that something would work out soon. And just a couple minutes later, his mom walked through the door! She gave him permission to leave and we all went up to the church and saw Jordy be baptized. :)

We also had a miracle with Elton. He is 18 and he's already been taught everything by the missionaries. We started teaching him a few weeks back, and he was amazing! But then we got to the word of wisdom, and he flat out told us he would not stop drinking alcohol. We went back several times to try to help him see why it was important and the blessings that would come and everything else we could possibly think of to help him. Nothing changed what so ever. But then this week we went to teach him. We planned to not even ask about the word of wisdom, just to teach about the Book of Mormon. But then right after the opening prayer, he asked if he could say something. He told us he had been thinking a lot and he wants to make a change in his life. He said he would not drink again, and that he wants to be baptized! He said that before, he didn't think he needed any of this. But that now he knows all of this is right for him!!! BAHHHH!!!! It was the BEST!!!! It is moments like that that make me LOVE being a missionary!!!!!

I love you all so much!! The church is true! The Lord knows and loves us! And when we do what is right, we are SO blessed!!

Love,
Sister Turley :)
