Oi familia!!!
Happy spring break! And Happy (day after) Easter!!! I can't believe there is really trim up in the kitchen!!! Haha :) And I am amazed that you can actually walk Jessie now!! This dog whisperer show sounds genius!!
Easter here was great! We made as traditional of a meal as we could here- fried chicken (not so traditional... haha), mashed potatoes, and rolls! And we dyed Easter eggs! Except they only have brown eggs here... not white... So we went through the egg selection at the store and picked out the lightest colored ones. And they only had yellow and blue food coloring, so we only had yellow, blue and green on brown eggs... Haha. It sort of worked! Easter here in Cape Verde is not quite like it is back home. Basically the only difference is lots of loud music and drunk people. We were teaching a bunch of teenagers on the sidewalk and this drunk guy came and sat with us. It was a little awkward but made things pretty darn exciting!
And this week we finally moved into a new house!!! After spending an entire transfer in the old one! It is soooo nice! It is super roomy and even has closets and a kitchen pantry- which are unheard of here! And only in Cape Verde do you start moving and your neighbors get upset with you because you didn't ask them to help!
We went to a noite familiar this week which is basically the equvilant of family night here. Or at least so I thought! We invited one of our investigators to go, and I expected it to just be a few more people. It was like half the branch!! All crammed into this itty bitty room! It was great though! They just gave a short little spiritual thought and then had cake :)
Right now we are teaching an investigator named Danildo. He is the friend of a recent convert and has already come to church with him a few times! They also have a friend who has sat with them in a couple of the lessons. His name is Anildo. Danildo and Anildo. Hahaha. They seriously have a million and a half different versions of that name here. Like Ilda, Anilson, Danilson, Anilton... The list just keeps going! He is awesome though!
