Praia :)
That sounds like a fun trip you had to the Kennewick Temple! I am excited for when I get to go with you all again!! And for when we are watching general conference some day and they announce the Cape Verde Praia temple!!! Haha I think it will happen this next April ;) There are lots of people to teach here!! And lots of members who all want to help! It is pretty great! Most of the time we are teaching people inside of their houses. There are animals all over- but not like there were in Tarrafal. There, there were cows and goats and sheep and pigs and dogs and chickens all over the place! Here there's mostly just dogs and cats and the occasional goat or cow. And do they speak Creole or Portuguese- Everyone here in this country speaks creole as their first language. Lots of people- especially the younger generation- speak Portuguese as well, but as a second language. But the creole here in Praia is basically the same as Tarrafal, so it's not too bad :) But it still makes teaching and talking pretty exciting some times!!
This week has been goooood! We found a family that is seriously the most amazing couple I have taught here!! Their names are Simone and Patrick. The first day we sat down with them, they were SO excited to learn EVERYTHING! They had so many questions and every time we introduced something new, they were so excited and wanted to know everything about it! They already are reading the Book of Mormon individually and as a couple every single day, and already want to get married and baptized!! Oh man!! That just doesn't happen here!! Every time we teach them, the spirit is SO strong, and it is just A-MA-ZING!!! I am so excited to keep teaching them!
Also! We had the baptism of Lizette!! Her mom was baptized a few months ago, and the sisters have been teaching her for a while. And the time was finally right for her and she decided she wanted to get baptized as well! She is pretty quiet, but her smile was HUGE all day the day of her baptism :) It made me happy :)
I love you all SO SO SO MUCH!!! Have a fantastic week!!
Love,
Sister Turley :)
